Susanne Hughes

arch_schedCalled to minister through her life lessons, Susanne Hughes is a Bible teacher and conference speaker who presents the Truth of God’s Word with clarity and devotion.  In ministering to women all across America, Susanne has found that most women are disillusioned in their relationship with Jesus largely due to presenting themselves “veiled” before a Holy God.  Susanne brings a message of freedom and of hope as she challenges women to remove whatever veils are hindering them from experiencing an intimate, vibrant, ever-deepening relationship with the Lover of their souls, Jesus Christ.

In 1994, Susanne met Jesus “face to face;” but when she continued to struggle with intense feelings of inadequacy, an obsessive need for security, and unexplainable anger and bitterness, she began to question her relationship with the Lord.  Broken before a merciful God, Susanne found herself tenderly carried through an intense season of emotional and spiritual healing that resulted in a relationship with Jesus leagues deeper than she ever knew possible.  Her journey has provided her with a deep desire to see others set free from the bondage of sin, shame, and guilt.  God is using Susanne’s life experiences to draw women to the healing power of Jesus Christ.

Susanne was called to women’s ministry while attending a ladies’ retreat in the spring of 2004.  Over the course of the following three years, the Lord molded and shaped her heart and life to equip her for the ministry to which He was calling her.  Susanne founded Mirror Ministries in January 2007, in fulfillment of the Lord’s leading and call on her life.

Actively involved in ministry most of her adult life, Susanne has been in the Lord’s service in various capacities.  She has served on staff at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana (, and has also served on the Ladies’ Ministry Executive Council there.  Susanne has been a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) leader and has personally written and taught in-depth Bible Studies to women from a variety of denominational backgrounds.  She is the author of Everyday Parables:  Hearing God’s Voice in the Simple Things of Life and Rescue Scriptures:  Scriptures to Claim for Freedom from Areas of Bondage or Entrapment.  Susanne has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.

Susanne has been married to her husband, Stephen, since 1993.  They are the proud parents of three wonderful sons: Jonathan, Joshua, and Joseph.  She is a dedicated wife and mother who enjoys actively participating in the spiritual, personal, and recreational growth of her family.
