Need a Friend?

coffee2Are you feeling lonely?  Depressed?  Unsatisfied with life?  Do you feel as though life has no purpose?  Perhaps you just cannot seem to get it all together?  Allow us at Mirror Ministries to introduce you to someone who can overcome all of these scenarios for you.  His name is Jesus.

Jesus Christ is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.  He promises that once He is allowed to come along side you and walk with you, He will never leave you.  He will be with you no matter the storm going on in your life.  He will bring peace, and He will be your refuge.

Through His Word, the Bible, Jesus assures us that He loves us.  His greatest desire is to have fellowship with us.  He desires a relationship with us so much that He came to earth for the sole purpose of removing that which separates us from Him – sin!  In order to do that, Jesus had to die at Calvary and shed His blood so that our sins could be atoned (or paid) for.  He took our sins upon Himself and paid the sin price so that we could have a relationship with Him.

The Bible tells us “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13), and Jesus says, “I have called you friends” (John 15:15).  In other words, because we are Jesus’ friends, He laid down His life for us.  What is it that we have done to merit such a sacrifice?  Absolutely nothing!  We could not earn love like this.  Jesus willingly laid down His life because He loves us and because He desires to save us from the ultimate penalty for sin – death.

Obtaining a relationship with Jesus requires childlike faith and acknowledgement of your sinful condition.  You must be willing to

  • Admit that you are a sinner.

  • Believe that Jesus is Lord and that He died to pay the penalty for your sins.

  • Confess your sins in a prayer to Him.  Ask Jesus to take away your sins and to come in to your heart.

Your prayer might be something like this,

“Lord, God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner.  I realize that without you in my heart I have no hope of going to heaven.  Please come in to my heart, cleanse me from my sins, and teach me how to walk daily with you.  Lord, the Bible says that You will never leave me and I believe that you won’t.  The Bible also says that you cannot lie and I believe that also.  Therefore, I believe that since I have asked you to come into my heart and to forgive me of my sins, You have done just that.  I love you, Lord.  In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.”

If you have just sincerely prayed this prayer or one like it, then you are, on the authority of God’s Word, one of His children.  Welcome to the family of God!  We at Mirror Ministries would love to hear of your decision.

Please take just a few moments to contact us so that we can pray for you and mail you some information about growing in your new relationship with the Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are so happy for you and we rejoice with you.  You have just made the greatest decision of your life!
